The Big Still – Being Still with Skill

The Big Still Practice on Sunday April 8th is an opportunity for beginners and practitioners to experience a morning of Movement, Breathwork, and Meditation with the intention of creating a sense of stillness and calm.

Take this opportunity to get still and listen intently. The arts of Yoga and QiGong offer a set of skills that, when practiced regularly, awakens your innate ability to become quiet, to tune into the nature of life moving through you, and to live with freedom and joy. This is what is meant by being “still with skill.”

You will learn specific practices that aid in calming the mind and body, drawing from both Yoga and QiGong. We will explore a systematic journey to prepare the body and mind for the deeper contemplative practice of meditation. As with our most recent Big Still we will explore how movement and breath work are great at settling both heart and mind for meditation.

Even if you are just curious about  Meditation or want to understand a little more about how to get started with your own meditation practice, then this is an ideal workshop for you.

The Big Still is just one of the facets of mind-body training that we offer at Mindful Guernsey and is an important aspect of longevity and cultivation practices of the Yogic and Internal Arts traditions that we teach.

If you have then please bring with you, zafus, blankets, blocks, cushions, yoga mat – anything that will help you with your sitting practice.  There will be chairs available.
